Hey, everyone. We're playing two shows this week. Try to make it out to one of them. First, we're playing Friday night at the Uptown Loft in Johns Creek. We're the first band and we go on at 9 PM. Then Saturday afternoon, we are playing everyone's favorite Atlanta music festival, Corndogorama. We hit the stage at 12:45 PM.

Kickstarter update
We've broken the $1,500 mark thanks to all of your generous donations. We still want to hit $2000 by July 10 (if we do, everyone who pre-orders our new album will get an exclusive t-shirt). We need your help. We are trying to raise $1,000 by July 10 to print the first 500 copies of our new album.

We've spent the last three months in the studio recording and we're almost ready to unleash this beast upon an unsuspecting public. Imagine Exile on Main Street, crossed with Led Zepplin IV, add a dash of Reign in Blood, and I think you get the picture. CD players and car stereos across the Southeast will be melting this August, not from the oppressive summer heat, but from the mind-burning, earth-scorching, soul-splitting sounds of Attractive Eighties Women!

I am going to be redesigning our website very soon. This one is old and crappy, so I probably won't be adding many more updates to it until the new one is launched (sometime in the next couple of months, hopefully). In the mean time, if you want to keep up with us, the best places to check out are our mailing list, myspace, facebook and twitter. We also have a calendar feed you can subscribe to in either ical or google calendar.

That's right -- a date to remember! You will have two chances to hear Atlanta's greatest band, Attractive Eighties Women, play LIVE! All of you working stiffs commuting to your boring jobs, tune your radios to "Atlanta's Rock Station", Rock 100.5 at 8 AM to hear AEW performing live in the studio with The Regular Guys. Yeah, come on! After playing a portion of "Lighting Bolt", for their audience last week (audio here), the Regular Guys have been swamped with requests for more AEW action. So, we've been invited to their studio to play a live show. If you're lazy like me and not usually up at 8 AM then you can catch the replay of the show on the Regular Guys 24 Hour Video channel or download the podcasts, both of which are available on the Regular Guys website. The replay starts as soon as the show is over at 10 AM and the podcasts are usually uploaded shortly thereafter. We are big fans of the Regular Guys and in honor of our appearance on their show, we will be releasing TWO NEW DEMOS, FREE on our website and myspace. Just head to either location on Wednesday morning and you'll be able to download studio recordings of our new songs "Surfing or AIDS (I'll Take Surfing)" and "DUI". We recorded these demos a while back and we'll be reentering the studio this Spring to record our brand new album! Want to hear even more songs from the new album? Then take a trip to lovely East Atlanta Village Wednesday night to catch Attractive Eighties Women and Lamb Handler at 529. Lamb Handler are friends of ours from Charlotte, on tour to support their new album. They're really great -- sort of a southern rock Queens of the Stone Age. Get there early to check them out. If you haven't heard, 529 is a new bar in what used to be The Village Bar & Grill, right across the street from The Flatiron. It's been completely renovated and is really nice. It's also one of the smallest places we've ever played, so get there early if you want one of those primo front row spots (Ladies, I'm talkin' to you!) Doors open at 9 PM, Lamb Handler goes on at 10 and AEW hits the stage around 11. Cover charge is only $5! Please remember that the Lamb Handler is on tour and bring some extra cash to buy their merch and support a great independent band. (You are also welcome to buy our merch!) Hey, everyone. Attractive Eighties Women is currently planning for 2009. We think it's going to be our biggest year yet. Our next gig is Feb. 4 at 529 in East Atlanta. We'll be playing with Lamb Handler from Charlotte, NC. Come check out a lot of new songs from our upcoming album! We're heading into the studio soon to get them all recorded and will hopefully be releasing the album this Summer.

Atlanta Supercon with JEM!

This is going to be a huge week for Attractive Eighties Women. We have two shows scheduled in the next seven days and they're both going to be amazing. First up is the Atlanta Supercon, where we'll be playing on Friday night, Nov. 21 at 10 PM sharp. We are really excited to let you guys know that we will be joined by Samantha Newark, voice of Jem and Jerrica from Jem and the Holograms!

As you see above, the original AEW logo was based (read: stolen) from this classic 80's cartoon. We are extremely excited that Samantha is going to perform with us. You can also catch her full set on Saturday at the Supercon.

Next up, we will be making our 97 Estoria debut on Monday night, Nov. 24 at 9 PM. This show is FREE and will combine elements of both our regular set and our lounge/acoustic set. We're the only band playing, so expect a lot of songs, a lot of drinking, and a lot of fun.

After our set, members of AEW will release their inner hipster on the turntables, spinning nothing but The Replacements and Weird Al all night. This show is sponsored by our good friends at Have You Heard?. If you don't subscribe to their weekly podcast, do the world a favor and kill yourself.
