Hello, ladies and germs! It's time once again to kick out the jams. The Clermont Lounge is hosting a rock n' roll throwdown on April Fools Day, with a lineup that must be seen to be believed. First up is the reunion of Athens, GA's own Drunk and Furious, the world's most offensive band. These guys are some of our oldest friends. The only time I ever actually puked on someone's dog, it was at the lead singer's house. They haven't played a show in five years, but now that Johnny Swanson (banjo) is out of jail, they're trying to pick up where they left off. They just can't legally play within 500 yards of a church or school... making the Clermont the perfect location to stage their comeback. Next, we have the best band in Atlanta that isn't us... The Vaginas! Hope this email makes it past your spam filter. We haven't played with these guys in a while, but if any of you remember the last time (unlikely!) you know you're in for a treat. With so many cops on furlough, we're hoping there won't be a repeat of the tear gas/taser incident. Did you know that "inciting a riot" is a crime? Then, the final strike in this liver-punching combo, Attractive Eighties Women hit the stage! As you all know, we're the kind of music people listen to while making bad decisions... What better place to make bad decisions than the Clermont Lounge? If one of you doesn't leave this show with an STD (that you didn't have before you got there), then frankly, we're not doing our jobs. We'll be playing a few new songs, along with all the old classics. Maybe we'll even bring back the plunger game, if you guys promise to behave. They're not selling any advance tickets to the show, so get there early. Quite a few folks were shut out of our last gig. Don't let this happen to you! We're damned popular, and the Clermont isn't any bigger than 529. To get into the show, all you need is $7, two condoms, and a brandy snifter full of green M & M's. See you there! Attractive Eighties Women will be returning to the stage on Dec. 11 at Lenny's! It will be our first time playing at Lenny's since Corndogorama 2008. Hard to believe, right? We're very excited to be sharing the stage with Daiquiri and America's Funnyman, Neil Hamburger. We'll be debuting a couple new tunes and jamming all the old classics as well. To celebrate, we've planned a rock and roll revival that will set your soul on fire. We're talking about an evening of pure, unadulterated rock music that will boil the very marrow of your bones! Woodstock? Altamont? The 100 Club? Yeah, something along those lines. First up we've got Tendaberry, from right here in the ANTA! They've got a new wave/post-punk sound unlike any you've heard before. You better show up with your dancing shoes on, because the mere sound of their music will have your body involuntarily gyrating to the beat. Who's next, you ask? None other than the greatest country band in Athens, GA, The Bearfoot Hookers! If you haven't been to a Hookers show, then you don't know the first thing about a rock and roll revival. These boys play beer drinkin' gospel! By the end of their set, Rev. Tybo will have you all on your knees, taking a communion of pork rinds and PBR. Finally, after you've all been whipped into a drunk, circle-pitting frenzy, Attractive Eighties Women will take the stage... FOR OUR LAST SHOW OF THE YEAR. That's right. The last Attractive Eighties Women show of 2009. We're taking a break -- a four-month hiatus from performing to seek audience with the Maharishi Mahesh Yogi. We will be working with the Yogi to develop a new form of transcendental meditation, based on the visualization of large boobs with symmetrical areolae. We've been preparing extensively for our trip to India in between rehearsals, mostly by eating Trader Joe's Paneer Tikka Masala. It seems to be working wonders for us, spiritually and as a band. The other day - as a direct result of the Yogi's breast visualization techniques - Kelly McGillis actually levitated 2-3 inches off the ground while playing the solo in "Death Skull Napalm Sword." We vow to return, ready to rock by January 2010, refreshed and renewed by our time with the Yogi and our visions of beautiful bouncing jugs. Maybe we'll play a surprise show here or there. Who knows? But this CD release party is guaranteed to be the last REAL Attractive Eighties Women show for some time. SO YOU'D BETTER BE THERE! Tickets are just $8! Well, it's official. We're the best band in Atlanta! Creative Loafing has asked us to headline their annual Best of Atlanta voting party. This year's event is at the Masquerade and will feature free food and beer for all who attend. Cover is only $5! Hey, everyone. We're playing two shows this week. Try to make it out to one of them. First, we're playing Friday night at the Uptown Loft in Johns Creek. We're the first band and we go on at 9 PM. Then Saturday afternoon, we are playing everyone's favorite Atlanta music festival, Corndogorama. We hit the stage at 12:45 PM.
